Will and Artificial Intelligence #2
A Book for Humans and Machines - Toward the Will to Play God
Here is the second post section of my new (future) book: Will and Artificial Intelligence: A Book for Humans and Machines.
My writing is progressing smoothly, following the flow of my ideas. This is more or less how I usually write. I don’t use an outline or a plan, but I have an idea of what I want to discuss and how.
That is one of the reasons why it would not have real meaning for me to delegate writing to an AI. Like Antonio Machado would say: “The path is made by walking.”
For me, the path is precisely where creativity happens. It is where I imagine new ideas and concepts, test their hermeneutical power, and experiment with their weaknesses.
The previous section, the “Introduction,” provided an opportunity to make some initial conceptual distinctions and to specify the focus of the inquiry: how I will approach the topic of artificial intelligence and our relationship to it, and vice versa.
This second section is entitled “Toward the Will to Play God.” I’m sure you have some idea what it’s about. Still, you will probably be surprised by what I have to say.
I would appreciate it if you could refrain from sharing the content of these posts. It is always difficult to know how a new book will evolve, and most of the ideas posted here are unpublished.
However, I invite all of you to read and comment on them.
Best wishes,
Romaric
